Changing Linux Agent Configuration

The Linux Backup Agent installer automatically sets default parameters for the configuration file located in:


After making changes to this file you need to restart the Agent daemon. To restart the Backup agent, use the following command:

/etc/init.d/cdp-agent restart

Backup Agent Configuration Options

ConfDir /usr/sbin/r1soft/conf Configuration directory path.
Directory where the Backup Agent saves its log files.
LogFileMaxBytes 33554432 Sets the maximum size in bytes of an Server log file before it is rolled over and a new log file is created.
LogFileMaxFiles 10 LogFilesMaxFiles sets the maximum number of log files the Backup Agent will create before it starts deleting older log files. The value of zero will allow an unlimited number of files.
BindTo The Backup Agent will listen for requests on this IP. Default is, meaning the Backup Agent accepts connections on any IP address configured on your Linux server.
LocalPort 1167 TCP port the Backup Agent will listen on.

Run the following command to list all configuration options

cat /usr/sbin/r1soft/conf/agent_config


less /usr/sbin/r1soft/conf/agent_config
