What is a Backup Agent?

Backup agent is the client component of our Server Backup solution. It has two components: the agent itself and its configuration utility. Backup agent is an application software installed on the customer’s server. It listens on TCP port for Backup and Restore requests from Backup Manager hosted on our high available backup server. It also controls the communication authorization between Backup Manager and Backup Agent.

Backup agent application does not have any user interactive functions. Once it is installed. It should be left running on your server.
