Configuring Firewall in Normal Mode.

To configure your firewall in the Normal Mode:

1. Login to your Parallels Power Panel.

2. Click on the Firewall link.

3. If you have not yet activated your firewall, select the Normal Mode option and click on the Submit button.

In the normal mode the rules you delete or add are called access rules. The Container access rules are pre-set groups of standard firewall rules. Each access rule refers to a most widely used service and corresponds to a number of standard firewall rules that ensure the availability of this service.

In the normal mode each access rule is dealt with as a single entity. This implies that enabling or disabling an access rule results in enabling or disabling all the standard firewall rules it corresponds to.

Preset access rules include:
  1. Access to outer world
  2. DNS server
  3. Internal services
  4. Mail server
  5. Plesk server
  6. POP3 server
  7. SSH server
  8. WEB server
Additional rules (including FTP server, IMAP server, etc.) can be added by clicking on the Add access rule icon.

To delete a rule, select the checkbox next to the rule you wish to delete. Then, click on the Delete icon and to confirm the deletion request. Note: access rules cannot be permanently deleted from the system. A deleted rule simply means the rule is temporarily disabled and can be enabled via the Add access rule icon.

To switch to the Advanced Firewall Mode, click on the Firewall Setup icon.
